Cyberpunk 2077 finally on Mac and free for some players

 Mac owners will finally be able to explore Night City.



Cyberpunk 2077 found itself at the center of a storm like few titles before it when it released in December 2020, with the title's optimization on PS4 and Xbox One being nothing short of catastrophic. What would seem trivial today was a real tragedy at the time for the millions of owners of these consoles, since the recent PS5 and Xbox Series were available in very limited quantities. The PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 was only truly capable on a powerful PC.

With a barrage of updates, CD Projekt has managed to right the ship and make Cyberpunk 2077 a must-have RPG on PC, Xbox Series, and PS5. The title has even just arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 . Finally, only Mac owners were left on the sidelines. The torture is over: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is coming to Mac this July.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition available this July 17 on Mac

Cyberpunk's official account reveals that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be available on Mac starting July 17. This version includes the Phantom Liberty expansion, which will be released in September 2023.

CD Projekt isn't sharing a trailer for the game to accompany its announcement. The Polish studio also hasn't revealed the recommended system requirements for running its open-world RPG on Mac, but it will do so very soon. We do know that only Macs with an Apple chip will be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 .

Good news, you won't have to pay again for the game if you already own it in your PC library. "  Anyone who has already purchased the game (base game, base game + Phantom Liberty, or Ultimate Edition) on Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store will have access to the Mac version at no additional cost."

We don't know the price of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Mac. Remember that the version released on Nintendo Switch on June 5th costs €59.99.

The game's Mac release isn't the only major event this week for CD Projekt and its players. The Polish studio is hosting a new REDstream this July 16th at 5 PM PT to discuss the contents of the title's 2.3 update. Don't forget that other major games are scheduled to arrive on Mac in the coming months.
